My joy in teaching comes from watching my students grow in their knowledge, and seeing the powerful benefits that regular practice brings to them. I've been teaching yoga in Monument and Colorado Springs continuously since 1999, in a multitude of settings before opening Yoga Pathways Studio in 2006.
After many years of yoga practice with various teachers (my first class was in 1973), I completed my first teacher training in 1999. In 2000 I began focusing my ongoing training on alignment-based yoga, learning to help students develop their strength & energy in a safe and effective manner. Yoga is a vast field of knowledge, and I continue to expand my understanding and skills with regular study.
I've completed well over 500 hours of yoga teacher training, and am a graduate of Inner Peace Yoga Therapy Training. My study of yoga therapeutics continues, and I attend classes and workshops every year with top experts in the field. My classes are small by design to allow me to modify yoga practice for each student as needed, and I also offer private yoga classes to focus on individual therapeutic needs.
A Minnesota native, I moved to Colorado in 1979. I am outside as much as I can be, whether it's on the meditation trail I built in the forest, a nearby lake in my kayak, or on the local trails in the foothills. I find immersion in nature to be powerfully grounding and healing.
